1. I love Wu Tang. I do not understand Wu Tang. I have been listening to all the records, all this time, and I pretty much think of them link Pink Floyd. I know its brilliant, but I miss some level of something that allows me to know what is going on. I mean, I know what is going on in PE, or RUN DMC. But Wu Tang might as well be Welsh.
2. My love of Vs. is huge. I was at the end of undergrad, in a terrible college relationship, subscribed to Spin magazine, living a half mile from Atomic Records. I remember how big of a deal it was that they were off MTV (I did not have MTV in college I do not think). I also specifically remember the internal conflict in the band starting to show. The guys riding in the bus, and Eddie in the van(they mean so much to me, I refer to them by their first names). Eddie doing the pirate radio nonsense. Also, him drinking a lot. 'Blood' and 'Animal' were my favorites. And seeing them do shows with the Rollins Band is a highlight of my touring life.
I think you've described Wu Tang perfectly. Maybe the only way to get Wu Tang is to realize you don't get them.
Vs. has a super special place to me also! Sounds like those shows were absolutely legendary, I'd love to hear more stories about that time.
I kind of got onboard with Pearl Jam in random order as I grew up in the early 2000's, but I remember thining Vs. was a greatest hits album for years before I realized it was a normal release. One of my favorite bands of all time, and always will be!
Seeing the Whigs was so profound. I saw them in Ohio, which is the best place to see them because of proximity to Skyline Chili. I also saw them with Joseph Arthur at First Ave.
I cannot tell you how many times I have told someone just how much Parked Outside has meant to me over the years. I heard that and Bed on Fire by Butch Walker in the same season. Bed on Fire was a revelation live.
South Carolina near the coast. The closest they get these days is New York. I’ve seen them in Charlotte and at Bonnaroo before, but that’s the closest bands that size get to where I live

Profound is a great way to put it! I was finally (!) lucky enough to see them earlier this summer.

Consider my weekend plans booked!
Went to Sunday’s PJ show and headed out again tonight. They still play plenty from the Vs album!
OH wow, words can't express my jealousy. They don't get down my way much. Hope the show was amazing
Where are you?

My husband saw the MSG shows. We live in Detroit, and it’s rare that they stop here. Which sucks, because the fans here are pretty wild.
