I put Synchronicity on my Top Ten of all time. There are a variety of songs and styles on it but I have always thought that side was more cohesive , even with Every Breath You Take, than side one. I know Sting was obsessing about Carl Jung's concept of synchronicity at the time and I like the way some of its ideas weave their way into the album. I don't think there's a bad song on it whether they all fit together or not.
I loved it too! I realize now that might not have come across too clearly, but it got a super high rating from me. I probably should have led with that, but it was a pretty stream-of-consciousness post this week 😁
I also wish I’d thought to listen with the original sides in mind. I lose that when listening on Spotify. But you’ve given me a good idea - from now on I’m going to have the flow of the sides in mind when listening to albums designed for vinyl
